Calypso Bay

At land estate reviews we will be reviewing  land estates and developers and providing the public with peoples experiences and reviews. Surprisingly certain developers and land estates such as Calypso Bay which is developed by the Roche Group has come up over and over again as a place people wish they had not bought in and that people have been treated really badly by the developer ( Roche Group ) .

So our first review is going to be of Calypso Bay.

We have received 4 reviews that people have asked us to publish and 3 more they have asked us not to publish. They have asked us not to publish their reviews as they still own in Calypso bay and are afraid of reprisals and of being treated badly by the developer Roche Group.

Review Number 1.

Calypso Bay are holding onto our $50,000 deposit and are refusing to refund the money. Calypso Bay cancelled the contract and should of returned the deposit. We are now going to court to have to get our money back. Our experience with Calypso Bay has been terrible. We strongly recommend buying elsewhere. From our experience the Roche group cannot be trusted. Our solicitor and barrister both do not understand why they will not return the deposit and this is why we are having to sue them for the return of our money. We wonder if they are having financial trouble and if this is the reason they cannot return the deposit which is rightfully ( Barrister and Solicitor agree ) ours after they cancelled our contract. Review Number 2.

We had to sell because of the insects. I have never had to deal with so many midgies and horse flies. They aren't there all the time but at least twice a week we would be eaten alive and would have to stay indoors for the day.

Review Number 3.

The DAP ( Development Approval Panel ) have no idea what they are doing. They are absolutely incompetent,. They have even harrassed

us.  We caught them  taking pictures of our property and our children. Coming into our property and measuring the distance of the drive wayand plants from paths and boundaries etc They objected to our sand pit for our kids. We have lost our construction bond of $10,000 since they where not happy with a few of these things and it was not worth while moving plants and driveways around. We were told by the DAP that the development was not "aimed at children", as such the sandpit and kids playgound that we had are not acceptable.

Review number 4.

We couldnt sell our house as they didnt give us the release letter as the driveway was a very slightly over the submitted drawings. That letter wasnt given until we ripped up the driveway and moved it, we had to do this to sell our house. This made us lose thousands of dollars. I will never buy in a Roche group develpoment again.

All you need to do is ask some of the local real estate agents and their staff what they think of Calypso Bay and you will be supprised at the negative answers. When it comes to selling a house expect your property to be on the market for a while. Contact the local real estate agents and find out the times properties stay on the market.
